Course Description

Thousands of bomb threats are made each year. Training key people to be aware of elevated risks, the components of IEDs, and how to respond to a threat or attack increases overall security and safety. Following the guidelines from the Department of Homeland Security, this course will equip you with the tools needed to:

  • Analyze a bomb call/threat – the important facts to collect & how to report this information
  • How to recognize an “IED” (Improvised Explosive Device)
  • The common features of IED attacks & attackers
  • The key features that may make an item or package suspicious
  • The hazards of an explosion & best actions for survivors

Christine McQuillanChristine is an Instructional Designer and eLearning Developer. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Illinois State University and worked as a teacher in inner-city Chicago before becoming a flight attendant.

Christine eventually became an instructor at the Republic training center in Indianapolis, Indiana. She specialized in training new hires and re-certifying current flight attendants on topics such as passenger safety, transportation security, and a wide variety of emergencies.
